  • Smoking, Alcohol & Drugs- the Drug Dependency study (A Monograph- Origins of Drug Dependency and the Culture of the Drug Dependency Family) led to the "DRUG ACTION GROUP" which met thrice a week to help coordinate to curb the use of drugs by the youth of Bangalore. The International Drug Prevention Day June 26th was marked by a Workshop on "The Truths and Myths of Drugs Dependency" at the State Youth Centre. A Youth Group for Peer Counselling to prevent Smoking & Drug Dependency was formed in 1996. Our Lotus Alcoholic Anonymous group founded at CREST 1998, in just under 2 years, it covered 963 persons, the numbers continued to grow, which included women alcoholics. This group continues to gather at the Vincent Pallotti Church premises having them in charge. We have an ongoing Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous group meeting at CREST every weekend.
